Tann Bullion Safe Mark 4
The Bullion Mark 4 is a heavy grade safe based upon modern principles of design and construction.
The increasing severity and determination of criminal attacks now gives rise to an urgent need for a range of safes in the heavy class for commercial as well as financial institutions. The Mark 4 is also particularly suitable for protection of jewellery and valuables.
Styling is simple and dignified. Cost has been devoted to strength rather than embellishment. The safe is made in five sizes ranging in weight from about 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 tons.
Massive in strength, resistant to attack by drills, explosives and the oxy-acetylene torch, the Mark 4 provides an extremely high degree of protection at remarkably economical cost.
BODY
The body thickness, including the back, is a constant 4 1/2″ suitably reinforced at connecting areas.
The construction employs the latest cold forming techniques coupled with the most advanced welding methods to form a jointless outer shell of 1/4″ tough steel plate. The inner body is similarly joined to the outer shell in such a way that the joint is stronger than the parent metal.
Over 1″ of specially developed drill, torch and impact resisting alloy is incorporated in a new monolithic form which defies delamination.
The remaining space is occupied by a drill, blowpipe and fire resisting monolith reinforced with special expanded steel mesh connected to the outer shell.
The body incorporates over 1 1/2″ of solid metal.
DOOR
The door has an overall thickness of 7″ with not less than 4 1/4″ of protection over the locks and vital boltwork. This protection comprises a total of 2 1/2″ of metal and not less than 1 3/4″ of Adamantium penetration and fire-resisting material.
A total of 2 1/2″ of metal consisting of over 1 1/2″ of high strength alloy and three separate layers of special tough steel and compound steel plate is designed to offer extreme resistance to drills, blowtorch, impact and other forms of attack.
A fire, drill and blowtorch resistant monolith completes an extremely strong and heavy structure which nevertheless swings easily on self-lubricating bearings housed in modern-style carriages.
THERMIC LANCE ATTACK
Devices are incorporated in the safe to deter this form of attack.
LOCK AND BOLTWORK
The door is secured with 1 1/2″ diameter bright drawn steel bolts locking behind a solid steel rebate, which is an integral part of the inner body of the safe.
The rear edge of the door is secured by a solid steel continuous bar locking behind a similar rebate, this is possible only because of the great thickness of the door and the design geometry employed.
The door is secured by one 10 lever high security keylock, complete with stainless steel detachable bitted keys in duplicate.
The boltwork incorporates special devices designed to give complete protection by re-locking the mechanism in the event of attack by any method which produces heat, displaces the lock or attempts to cut a hole in the door.
ALTERNATIVE LOCKING ARRANGEMENTS
The safe may be controlled by an additional 10 lever keylock or by single or twin four or six-wheel combination locks.
The four-wheel lock is available with 100,000,000 combinations and is supplied with an indirect drive for additional security (direct drive on Size 43/3420).
The six-wheel high security lock with 3,000,000 available combinations is particularly easy to use.
Two or three movement time locks can be supplied to act in conjunction with any locking arrangement. (Two movement lock only for Size 43/3420).
FURNITURE, FITTINGS AND FINISH
Black nylon covered pull handle, stainless steel handle brackets and matching escutcheons and bolt throwing handle combine with the single tone grey finish to give a simple yet impressive appearance.
Combination dials, blinder shields and check locks, when fitted, are finished in satin chrome.
A wide range of fittings, including drawers, cupboards and adjustable shelves is available.
INTERIOR FITTINGS
A wide variety of interior fittings is available so that full use can be made of the capacity of the safe. These fittings include:
- Full width shelves (adjustable).
- Half width shelves for use with central partition.
- Single drawer, on sizes 43/3420, 60/5121 and 60/5142.
- Double drawers side by side on all safes.
- Triple drawers side by side, on sizes 66/5723 and 72/6325.
- All shelves and drawers are adjustable in the height at 1 1/2″ pitch.
- Cupboard fitted at top. These cupboards can if required be secured by two locks.
