Description
S LS 1500 RANGE SAFES
This range has been designed to protect medium quantities of cash and valuables against the determined criminal using explosives, drills and force. Research and development have established the appropriate specification for the type of risk involved.
BODY
The outer body is constructed from 3/16″ steel formed with minimum radius corners and welded by modern process. The inner body is constructed from 3/16″ steel which is closely encased on all five sides by 1/8″ drill resisting steel. Between the outer body and the lining is a vibrated anti-penetration monolith containing carbon steel fibres. This material has a crushing strength in excess of 11,500 p.s.i. (Laboratory test). The overall thickness of the safe body is 3 1/2″.
DOOR
The door is of laminated construction, which, with the fire resisting shield has an overall thickness of 4 1/4″. It is suspended on anti-friction bearings and provision is made for adjustment. The first lamination is a 1/2″ steel plate, backed by a 1/16″ thick corrugated drill resisting plate. The inner plate is of 1/4″ steel giving a door thickness of 1″. A special pyramid faced drill torch resisting plate 5/8″ thick protects the vital locking area. The total protective thickness over the lock, including lock mounting, is in excess of 1 1/2″.
The sizes 1814 and 2316 each have three 1 1/4″ diameter steel moving bolts on the leading edge of the door. The size 3520 has four moving bolts on the leading edge of the door and all models have fixed dog bolts at the rear, locking directly into the spun steel cups incorporated in the inner body lining.
LOCKING
The boltwork is secured by either a 7 lever keylock or a 3 wheel keyless combination lock. Alternatively, locking can be by a keylock in addition to the combination lock, or by two keylocks, or by two combination locks. The SLS 1500 has been specially designed so the keylock and combination lock are readily interchangeable after manufacture.
The keylock is of an entirely new design (patent applied for) It has open ended notched levers and multiple probe arms set in different positions and heights in the laminated bolt head. The probe arms are severally positioned across the whole width of the lock bolt and it is not possible to remove the lock bolt stump by drilling a single small hole. The keyless combination lock is a 3 wheel Sargent & Greenleaf, with an anti-observation dial and dial ring.
ANTI-EXPLOSIVE DEVICE
This is a live device which protects the boltwork every time the safe is locked. This device will be fitted in random positions to give greater protection against the experienced criminal.
FLOOR ANCHORING
Every safe is prepared with a base fixing hole for 1/2″ diameter high tensile rawlbolts, which is suitable for anchoring to wood or concrete floors.
FITTINGS
Shelves, adjustable at 1″ (26mm) pitch.
Lockable full width or half width drawers, overall height 4″ (102mm) internal height 3“ (77mm).
Lockable cupboards, height 9″ (229mm), 12″ (305mm) 15″ (380mm)
The safe can be equipped with a deposit feature which allows staff to post money in capsules without use of keys. Alternatively, a rotary trap can be fitted.
FINISH
The safe is finished in a grey acrylic semi-gloss paint.
The attractive ergonomically designed combined bolt-throwing and pull handle is finished in anodised alloy, satin polished.
Safes secured by keylocks are fitted with flexi-roll escutcheons to prevent ingress of contaminents to lock mechanism.
