Tann Bankers Cash MK 6 66/5723

Description

TANN Bankers Cash Safe Mark 6

The Bankers Cash Mark 6 represents an entirely new conception of the massive maximum-security safe.

The overall design and construction is immensely powerful. New materials employed in the body and door linings resist the scientific methods of attack which criminals can be expected to use with increasing frequency over the remaining years of this century. New techniques of cold forming and welding give unrivalled overall strength against force of all kinds.

Advanced design skill has also gone into the vital control mechanisms. The locks, which can be of key or combination type, are of latest bank treasury grade and the precision-engineered boltwork incorporates devices automatically resisting attack by explosives and other means.

The styling of the Mark 6 is simple, yet impressively dignified. Its massive strength speaks for itself. It is made in five sizes with weights ranging from about 2 to 4 tons.

In all, this remarkable safe represents a major advance in security engineering.

BODY
The body thickness, including the back, is a constant 4 1/2″ strongly reinforced at connecting areas.

The construction employs the latest cold forming techniques coupled with the most advanced welding methods to form a jointless outer shell of ¼” tough steel plate. The inner body is similarly joined to the outer shell in such a way that the joint is stronger than the parent metal.

The body which contains over 1 3/4″ of solid metal is constructed from a series of interlocking monolithic structures which defy delamination techniques.

The construction consists of 1/4″ outer steel tough plate, behind which is a reinforced drill and torch resistant monolith approximately 2 1/2″ thick connected to 1/4″ steel shroud in turn bonded to a monolithic structure of special high strength alloy. With the exception of the Size 43/3420 the centres are removable to facilitate installation. Removable carriages can also be provided against special order to assist the installation of safes through strongroom doors.

DOOR
The door has an overall thickness of 7″ with not less than 4 1/4″ of protection over the locks and vital boltwork. A total of over 3 1/4″ of special alloy, metal carbides, tough steel, and compound steel plates and not less than 1″ of Tannfrax gives extreme resistance to drills, all forms of oxygen cutting, impact, and other forms of attack.

A unique feature is the method by which the main protective material is securely attached to the front and rear structural plates of the door assembly.

The door swings easily on self-lubricating bearings in modern style carriages.

THERMIC LANCE ATTACK
Devices are incorporated in the safe to deter this form of attack.

LOCK AND BOLTWORK
The door is secured with 1 1/2″ diameter bright drawn steel bolts locking behind a solid steel rebate, which is an integral part of the inner body of the safe.

The rear edge of the door is secured by a solid steel continuous bar locking behind a similar rebate, this is possible only because of the great thickness of the door and the design geometry employed.

The door is secured by two John Tann bank treasury grade 10 lever high security keylocks, complete with stainless steel detachable bitted keys in duplicate.

The precision engineered boltwork incorporates special devices designed to give complete protection by re-locking the boltwork mechanism in the event of attack by any method which produces heat, displaces the lock or attempts to cut a hole in the door.

ALTERNATIVE LOCKING ARRANGEMENTS
The safe may be controlled by twin 10 lever keylocks or by twin four or six-wheel combination locks, or by one combination and one key lock.

The four-wheel lock is available with 100,000,000 combinations and is supplied with an indirect drive for additional security (direct drive on Size 43/3420).

The six-wheel high security lock with 3,000,000 available combinations is particularly easy to use.

Two or three movement time locks can be supplied to act in conjunction with any locking arrangement. (Two-movement lock only for Size 43/3420).

FURNITURE FITTINGS AND FINISH
Stainless steel pull handle and brackets. Matching satin finish chrome escutcheons, bolt throwing handle and blinder shield if fitted.

Two-tone modern finish in mid and dark grey gives a style as modern as it is dignified. A wide range of fittings including drawers, cupboards and adjustable shelves is available.

INTERIOR FITTINGS
A wide variety of interior fittings is available so that full use can be made of the capacity of the safe. These fittings include:

  • Full width shelves (adjustable).
  • Half width shelves for use with central partition.
  • Single drawer, on sizes 43/3420, 60/5121 and 60/5142.
  • Double drawers side by side on all safes.
  • Triple drawers side by side, on sizes 66/5723 and 72/6325.
  • All shelves and drawers are adjustable in the height at 1 1/2″ pitch.
  • Cupboard fitted at top. These cupboards can if required be secured by two locks.
